Taijutsu for Dummies Empty Taijutsu for Dummies

Post  LotusoftheLeaf Sun Jun 12, 2011 1:38 am

I used to play the game with my brothers a long time ago and I've recently gained interest in the game again. I'd like to try playing in tournaments this time around. My favorite characters are without a doubt Rock Lee and Might Guy so I've always liked playing Taijutsu. All the staple cards my deck used to have (100% Hot Blooded, Lee & Tortoise, Dynamic Lightning Lotus Chain, etc.) are rotated out now, and looking around it seems that the two types of Tai that are out now are either Surge or OTK with Eight Inner Gates. I was wondering which of these Tai builds, or any others that are floating around, is the easiest to use and relatively cheapest for a fairly new player.

Much thanks in advance!

While to be honest you arent going to build any tier 1 Taijutsu decks, but the OTK seems to be the coolest IMO. The supers and most cards around the archtype will be relatively cheap too as they dont see much if any competitive play.

OTK is the one I was leaning towards the most, anyway. It sounds fun to play, though hard to pull off. I went to Target the other day and got some booster packs just to see what I'd pull to give me some deck ideas. I opened a Path of Pain one first and the first card I pulled was Eight Inner Gates. I took it as a sign.

Yea it does seem rather interesting to say the least and I could only imagine peoples faces when they get OTKed by it Razz

As I said before, one can only hope that new cards will come out in this block to make it a viable deck.

I'm in agreement with Thomas that it's a pretty cool deck, it just needs certain pieces for it to be competitive. It'll get there eventually.... I hope.

Is there any card similar to Naruto [R] that can search out a mission?

Kiba [Keen Nose] searches the top 5 for a mission card.

Kido State 2, Iruka and the client that protects your jutsus will help a lot.

I'm not a great deck builder, but this is what I have so far.

Ninja:
3 x Rock Lee (Childhood) [Motto of Hardwork]
3 x Messenger Ninja [Delivery]
3 x Temari [Excellent Tactician]
2 x Gaara of the Desert (Childhood) [Loneliness]

3 x Gitai [The Quartet]
2 x Tortoise Ninja [Lesson]

3 x Rock Lee [Motto]
2 x Hinata Hyuga [Power to Protect]

3 x Tobi [Man of Mystery]
2 x Rokkaku [For the Revenge]

3 x Neji Hyuga [Battle Ready]
2 x Sasuke Uchiha [Freezing Eyes]
3 x Might Guy [Passion]

Mission:
3 x Messenger Ninjas
2 x Just Like That Hero
2 x Chakra Molding

Jutsu:
3 x Primary Lotus
3 x Eight Inner Gates
3 x Youth at Full Power

Reinforcement:
3 x Rock Lee & Gaara of the Desert
2 x Rock Lee & Neji Hyuga
2 x Temari & Gaara of the Desert
1 x Neji Hyuga & Hinata Hyuga

The strategy is to get Lee as pumped up as possible to win OVs until turn 4. Then pull up a blocker that can't use jutsu with Neji and Hinata's tracking to use Eight Inner Gates.

Lee can gain strength from Guy's effect, using jutsu w/ Chakra Molding, growth, Tortoise's effect, and every Tai ninja in play. To protect him from jutsu, I have Rokkaku and Youth at Full Power, the latter also providing him with up 7 Mental if all my Tai ninja are in play.

Temari/Gaara squad makes more ninja susceptible to Freezing Eyes, and then Neji can pick off the weakest of what's left.

I think the Lee/Guy platoon could work in here, but wasn't sure how to make room for it.
