my guese was each letter is 1 more than the last Ex. A(1), B(2), C(3), etc but i didnt decide to submit it due to being apathetic.

At least you figured it out by yourself, that's better than just cheating and looking it up. Not cheating, but it's better to do it on your own. But I do feel your pain, I forgot I could look it up lol, but I didn't spend hours trying to figure it out, maybe 15-20 minutes lol. I'm not even sure I got it right. lol
